After the 97th amendment in the Constitution, there has been a change in the Definition of an Associate member. Now again after framing of the New chapter there has been a new term - Joint Member. But now in the new chapter the definition of Associate Member has been changed.
Thus we can say that Person who has right, title, and interest in the property, who holds property along with the first owner but whose name appears after the name of the first owner in the share certificate has rights. The society can inspect Index II of the purchase agreement to find out who is the Joint owner. If with the consent of the first owner, the joint owner contests elections then he can become an office-bearer.
